Step into a pivotal role supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder across diverse educational settings. This contract opportunity spans 37.5 hours per week, providing dynamic itinerant services from kindergarten through age 21 in an ASD program. As an Autism Support Specialist and SPED Teacher, your expertise in BCBA methodology and several years of autism experience will help shape more inclusive, effective learning environments.
Key Qualifications:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credentials required
- Demonstrated background working directly with students with autism, including high-functioning autism and Asperger's Syndrome
- Extensive experience in autism-specific educational interventions, including applied behavior analysis
- Ability to design and adapt curriculum and behavioral supports for individualized student needs
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills for working across multidisciplinary teams and with families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional activities tailored to K–21 students on the spectrum, reflecting state and district standards
- Administer, interpret, and communicate results from a range of assessments to guide eligibility and programming
- Develop and implement behavior support plans, monitoring progress and adjusting interventions as needed
- Employ a variety of ABA strategies—discrete trial teaching, pivotal response training, functional routines, and more—to build functional and social skills
- Provide training and actionable resources to staff and parents, ensuring ongoing support for ASD students
- Construct visual supports and classroom strategies that promote independence and appropriate behavior
- Collaborate in IEP development, eligibility determination, and compliance with relevant laws and policies
- Engage in crisis intervention and de-escalation in accordance with district protocols
