Make a difference supporting students across a dynamic district as an Autism Support Specialist! This contract opportunity offers 37.5 hours per week, working itinerantly with learners from kindergarten through age 21 in an ASD program. Whether you’re an experienced SPED teacher or a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) with relevant school-based expertise, your skills will empower students and help shape positive outcomes for those with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a BCBA, or credentials as a Special Education Teacher with autism experience
  • Demonstrated success supporting students with ASD in a school-based setting
  • Knowledge of behavior analysis, IEP/504 plans, and research-based instructional strategies
  • Strong data collection and assessment interpretation skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, families, and stakeholders

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver instruction tailored to students with ASD, Asperger’s Syndrome, and high-functioning autism
  • Administer and interpret assessments to determine eligibility, guide interventions, and track progress
  • Design and implement behavior support plans, modifying as needed based on data collection
  • Employ evidence-based techniques such as discrete trial teaching, pivotal response training, and functional routines
  • Adapt general and special education materials to meet diverse learner needs
  • Facilitate IEP meetings and assist in the creation of meaningful, functional plans for students
  • Provide team training, parent education, and professional development across various platforms
  • Promote student self-advocacy, social skills, and independence in classroom and community settings
  • Maintain safety, comply with policies, and stay current with best practices
