Elementary Board Certified Behavior Analyst - Hartford, CT

Make a meaningful impact in a supportive elementary school setting as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)! This contract position is ideal for professionals passionate about creating positive, lasting change for students in a behavior-focused environment.

You’ll work onsite during school hours, 8:40 A.M. - 3:10 P.M., supporting a self-contained classroom of 10 students enrolled in a specialized behavior program for grades 3–5. Days are dynamic, with opportunities to collaborate with paraprofessionals, counselors, and special education teachers to implement evidence-based interventions. As needs arise, you’ll provide crisis response and intervention support throughout the school day.

Key Qualifications:

• Active BCBA certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a school or behavioral classroom setting
• Strong background with FBAs/BIPs and developing behavior support plans
• Proven ability to handle behaviors such as elopement, aggression, and work refusal with professionalism and composure
• Comfort in collaborating with diverse education teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Guide and support staff running behavioral classrooms for students in grades 3–5
• Respond to behavioral crises and provide intervention strategies as needed during the school day
• Conduct and update Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Model and coach classroom staff on effective behavioral strategies for students
• Facilitate reintegration of students into less restrictive environments as appropriate
