Step into a vital role supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder across a diverse range of age groups, from kindergarten to young adults in ASD programs. As an Autism Support Specialist, you will leverage your expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis and instructional strategies to make a tangible difference in the academic and behavioral growth of students entrusted to your guidance.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required
  • Strong background in school-based autism services; SPED teacher credentials highly valued
  • Familiarity with effective interventions for students with ASD, including those with Asperger’s and high-functioning autism
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and modify individualized behavior support plans
  • Skilled in delivering clear, audience-appropriate assessment results and intervention strategies
  • Commitment to collaborative teamwork with multidisciplinary school personnel, families, and community providers

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, research-based lessons for students ages 5–21 with ASD, aligned with IEPs, 504s, and district standards
  • Conduct assessments to determine eligibility, track progress, and plan interventions
  • Initiate and monitor behavioral data collection, adjusting plans as student needs change
  • Model evidence-based techniques—such as discrete trial teaching and pivotal response training—to promote skill acquisition, social growth, and independence
  • Train staff, parents, and service providers on autism-specific supports and interventions in various formats
  • Assist in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations related to special education and ASD programming
  • Provide continuous communication and support to ensure collaborative progress toward student goals

This contract offers a consistent 37.5-hour workweek and the opportunity to work itinerantly, making an impact throughout the district.
