Bring your expertise in autism instruction to an impactful contract opportunity as an Autism Support Specialist, working across kindergarten through age 21 programs in an itinerant role. In this dynamic position, you’ll provide targeted instructional and behavioral support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including those with Asperger’s and high-functioning profiles.

With a schedule of 37.5 hours per week, you will deliver inclusive, research-based lessons, adapt curricula, and actively contribute to district-wide support for both students and staff. Your specialized knowledge as a BCBA will drive the design and revision of effective behavior support plans, enabling students to achieve meaningful growth in both academic and social domains.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid BCBA certification
  • Several years of direct experience supporting students with autism in educational settings
  • Demonstrated skill with applied behavior analysis and ASD-specific intervention strategies
  • Proficient in assessment, data collection, and development/adaptation of IEPs and 504 plans
  • Collaborative approach, able to work with multidisciplinary teams, families, and service providers
  • Strong communication skills to simplify assessment results and training content for diverse audiences

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and monitor evidence-based interventions for students with ASD
  • Assess student needs and progress, modify supports as required, and participate in eligibility evaluations
  • Collaborate in IEP development and actively participate in meetings
  • Provide training and consultation to district staff and families about ASD interventions and support strategies
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal guidelines, program documentation, and district initiatives
  • Offer crisis prevention/intervention support as needed to uphold a safe learning environment
  • Foster and facilitate social skills development and self-advocacy in learners
