Key Qualifications:
- Active Delaware BCBA licensure/certification required (please be ready to provide verification)
- Experience in a school-based BCBA role strongly preferred
- Background supporting students with severe needs and autism spectrum disorders essential
- Demonstrated expertise in de-escalation strategies and participation on crisis intervention teams
- Proven ability to conduct thorough Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop effective Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
- Skilled collaborator, able to work on behavior goals for IEPs and support robust data collection
- Reliable transportation to work onsite as this position does not offer remote or virtual options
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct behavioral support to students and consultation to staff
- Manage and assist in de-escalating challenging behaviors; participate as a crisis team member
- Conduct, document, and analyze FBAs for students as needed
- Design, implement, and monitor customized BSPs
- Collaborate with IEP teams on behavior-related student goals
- Collect and analyze behavioral data, making data-driven recommendations
- Consult regularly with teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff to ensure effective implementation of strategies
