Elementary Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) | New Haven, Connecticut

Step into a dynamic, classroom-based contract opportunity supporting elementary students in a specialized behavior program. In this role, you'll work regular school hours (8:40 A.M. – 3:10 P.M.) with a close-knit team dedicated to helping students in grades 3-5 successfully navigate their school day. This position balances consistent routines with the flexibility to respond to crisis situations and interventions as needed.

Your impact will include:

Key Qualifications:

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required
• Experience working in elementary school settings, ideally within behavior programs
• Strong background in functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
• Comfort supporting students with challenging behaviors like elopement, work refusal, and aggression
• Collaborative spirit to work alongside paraprofessionals, counselors, and special education teachers

Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing support to a self-contained classroom of 10 students, focusing on positive behavioral change
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, counselors, and special education teachers to implement behavioral strategies
• Assist in running behaviorally focused classrooms, promoting student independence and inclusion
• Respond effectively to crises or urgent behavioral interventions as needed throughout the day
• Write and revise FBAs and BIPs, tailoring approaches to individual student needs
• Foster a positive, supportive environment aimed at integrating students into less restrictive settings wherever possible
