Elementary Board Certified Behavior Analyst in New Haven, CT

Embark on a rewarding contract position supporting elementary students as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in a vibrant school environment. This opportunity centers around a classroom-based role, collaborating closely with a dedicated team of paraprofessionals, counselors, and special education teachers serving grades 3-5 within a specialized behavior program. With a caseload of 10 students, you'll play a key part in fostering positive change and helping students reach their fullest potential.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Active BCBA certification and experience in a school-based setting
• Previous work with elementary-aged students, especially those exhibiting challenging behaviors (elopement, work refusal, aggression)
• Strong skills in developing, writing, and revising Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Ability to provide training and guidance to support staff, ensuring consistent behavioral strategies and interventions
• Flexibility and composure to respond to crises or behavioral incidents throughout the school day

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist paraprofessionals, counselors, and special educators with running behavioral classrooms for students in grades 3-5
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans
• Collaborate with the team to promote the goal of increased inclusion for students, allowing more time outside the self-contained setting
• Respond promptly to behavioral crises, providing professional support, de-escalation, and intervention as needed
• Work on revising FBAs and BIPs based on ongoing observation and data collection
