Board Certified Behavior Analyst in Portland, OR

Make a real difference in the lives of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders as an Autism Support Specialist and SPED teacher. This contract opportunity offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week and involves itinerant work across sites, supporting students from kindergarten through age 21 in ASD programs.

Key Qualifications:

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required
• Demonstrated experience working with K-21 students with Autism, including those with Asperger’s Syndrome and high-functioning autism
• Expertise using applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and research-based interventions for ASD
• Strong background in developing and modifying IEPs and behavior/504 plans
• Solid ability to administer and interpret academic and behavioral assessments
• Effective communicator, able to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Skilled at adapting curriculum and instructional activities for diverse learners

Core Responsibilities:

• Design and implement instructional lessons aligned with state/district standards and ASD best practices
• Administer assessments to determine student eligibility, functional needs, and academic levels; communicate findings clearly
• Develop, monitor, and revise individualized behavior support plans based on data and observation
• Employ ABA strategies and diverse instructional formats (discrete trial, pivotal response, routines, etc.)
• Promote social skills and appropriate peer interactions throughout the school day
• Coach, train, and mentor staff, parents, and related service providers on ASD interventions and classroom strategies
• Participate in IEP and eligibility meetings; assist in the creation and review of required documentation
• Collaborate across disciplines and agencies to ensure support and compliance with educational mandates
• Implement crisis prevention/intervention strategies and help ensure student and staff safety
