Elementary Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) | Terryville, Connecticut

Make a meaningful difference supporting elementary students with behavioral needs in a classroom-based setting. This contract opportunity focuses on providing expertise as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) within a specialized behavior program for grades 3-5. The position serves a caseload of 10 students in a self-contained classroom, with the collaborative goal of reintegrating students into general education settings as much as possible.

Your day-to-day will revolve around school hours from 8:40 A.M. to 3:10 P.M., ensuring a schedule that aligns with school operations and family life. You will play a critical role in guiding paraprofessionals, counselors, and special education teachers in the implementation of behavior interventions, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Current BCBA certification, with experience in elementary school settings preferred
• Strong understanding of designing and revising Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
• Effective communicator, comfortable consulting with staff and supporting classroom teams
• Experience with a range of behaviors, including elopement, work refusal, and aggression
• Able to provide in-the-moment crisis intervention as needed
• Collaborative and flexible, with a dedication to helping students reach their fullest potential

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and refine behavioral programming for a 10-student elementary classroom

• Conduct, write, and update FBAs and BIPs
