A Lead Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) serves as a key instructional and behavioral leader responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and evaluation of behavior support services across a network of schools. This role emphasizes building systems-level impact, strengthening staff capacity, and ensuring equitable, data-driven behavioral practices that support student achievement and college readiness.
The Lead BCBA plays a critical role in advancing a mission-driven, college-preparatory environment by promoting inclusive practices, high expectations, and positive school culture.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Program Oversight
- Lead the development and implementation of district-wide behavioral systems, including Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
- Oversee the delivery of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services across multiple campuses
- Ensure consistency and fidelity of behavior support practices across schools
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of behavioral programs using data-driven decision-making
Staff Supervision & Capacity Building
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), paraprofessionals, and instructional staff
- Design and deliver professional development on behavior strategies, classroom management, and intervention implementation
- Coach school teams to build internal capacity and sustainability of behavioral supports
Student Support & Intervention
- Guide Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for students with intensive needs
- Collaborate with special education teams to align behavior supports with IEP goals
- Support crisis intervention planning and promote proactive, preventative strategies
Collaboration & Systems Integration
- Partner with school leaders, teachers, and families to create cohesive support systems
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to align academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports
- Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and high expectations for all students
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field
- Active BCBA certification
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in ABA, with school-based or leadership experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff and leading behavioral programs
- Strong knowledge of special education processes, including IEP development
