Make a meaningful difference in the school community as a full-time contract Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025–2026 school year. In this dynamic position, you’ll collaborate closely with another Behavior Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Administrator, supporting 3–4 school sites within a vibrant district. Your expertise in positive behavior interventions, functional behavior assessments, and staff training will provide critical support to students and educational teams across multiple locations.

Ideal background:

  • Current BCBA or certified Special Education Teacher (tier 3 or 4 license required for SpEd Teachers)
  • Experience consulting and implementing positive behavioral interventions in an educational setting
  • Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting functional behavior assessments and developing individualized education plans
  • Comfortable traveling between multiple school locations as assigned
  • Adaptable, calm under pressure, and capable of using de-escalation techniques
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and supporting compliance with district, state, and federal policies
  • Please note: Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) do not qualify for this role

What you’ll do:

  • Consult and implement positive behavioral strategies and supports for students
  • Conduct assessments and apply interventions, using data to drive decisions
  • Train staff members on best practices in behavior management
  • Reinforce positive behaviors and redirect or de-escalate challenging situations
  • Support and help develop individualized education plans
  • Help to ensure a safe and positive learning environment for all students and staff
  • Respond to crisis situations with flexible thinking and composure
  • Comply with all district, state, and federal guidelines and policies
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by Special Education leadership
