Embark on a fulfilling contract role as a full-time Behavior Intervention Specialist supporting multiple school sites in a dynamic educational environment. This position spans the 2025/2026 school year, beginning in early September through mid-June, with typical hours from 8:30 am to 4:10 pm and a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. You'll collaborate closely with another Behavior Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Administrator to positively impact students’ success across 3-4 assigned locations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must hold either a BCBA certification or a Special Education teaching license (Tier 3 or 4 required for SpEd teachers)
  • Experience consulting, implementing, and evaluating positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS)
  • Proficient in conducting functional behavior assessments and utilizing data-driven decision-making
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and collaboration
  • Expertise in staff training on behavioral recommendations and interventions
  • Ability to adapt and respond calmly in crisis situations
  • Experience working with students with disabilities or behavioral needs preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor positive behavior intervention plans for students
  • Collaborate with district staff to ensure compliance with educational standards and individualized education plans
  • Deliver ongoing staff training related to behavioral supports and safety practices
  • Apply de-escalation strategies, reinforce positive behaviors, and use restrictive procedures when necessary
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment across assigned schools
  • Communicate progress and consult regularly with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure adherence to district, state, and federal guidelines
