Embark on a fulfilling opportunity as a Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025-2026 school year supporting students and staff across multiple school sites near Elk River, MN. This full-time, onsite contract position offers you the chance to collaborate with an experienced team, including another Behavior Intervention Specialist and Special Education Administrator.
As a valued team member, you’ll make a meaningful impact by using your expertise to consult, design, and implement evidence-based positive behavior interventions. The typical work schedule is 8:30-4:10, totaling around 37.5 hours weekly, with flexibility required for supporting three to four assigned campuses.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active BCBA certification or Tier 3/4 Special Education Teacher license (RBT certification does not qualify)
- Experience in education or clinical settings implementing behavioral supports
- Strong collaboration and communication skills supporting diverse student and staff populations
- Ability to conduct functional behavior assessments and utilize data to inform instructional decisions
- Creative, flexible, and calm approach in dynamic situations
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, consult, and apply positive behavior interventions and supports for students
- Collaborate with educational teams to provide effective student programming
- Conduct functional behavior assessments and respond with appropriate interventions
- Support, coach, and train school staff in behavior management best practices
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment, including use of de-escalation techniques and restrictive procedures if necessary
- Ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, as well as district policies
- Utilize data-driven decision making to promote student success
