Take your career in education to the next level with a rewarding contract opportunity specializing in special education and behavioral support. In this hybrid role, you’ll split your time between high school teaching (0.5 FTE) and providing behavior intervention support at the elementary level (0.5 FTE). Spend mornings with high school students, delivering specialized instruction, and afternoons collaborating with elementary staff as a Behavior Intervention Specialist—where your expertise will help shape and improve positive student outcomes.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid and active Minnesota Teaching License (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required for special education)
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher and/or Behavior Specialist in a K-12 setting
- Ability to design, implement, and support effective behavioral intervention plans
- Strong skills in collaboration, consultation, and supporting fellow educators
- Excellent communication and organizational capabilities
- Must present license and resume for consideration
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to high school students in the mornings as part of the high school team
- Partner with elementary school educators in the afternoons, consulting on behavioral supports and interventions without managing your own caseload
- Support staff in developing individualized behavior plans and implementing best practices
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a nurturing, inclusive school climate
Role Details:
- Onsite position, M-F, roughly 7am-3pm (37.5 hours per week)
- Contract runs from August 25, 2026, through June 10, 2027
