Seize an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact as a Behavior Intervention Specialist for the 2025-26 school year. This full-time, onsite contract position spans from August 25, 2026, through June 10, 2027. The initial week centers on training, with student engagement beginning September 8. Typical work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m., covering approximately 37.5 hours per week.
You'll collaborate closely with another BIS and a Special Education Administrator, providing support across 3-4 school sites (assignments will consider travel but cannot be guaranteed). The role centers on consulting, designing, and implementing positive behavior interventions to help students thrive, as well as training staff and maintaining a safe, supportive educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
- BCBA credential or Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 license required if applying as SpEd Teacher)
- Experience conducting functional behavior assessments
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans
- Skilled in utilizing de-escalation strategies, positive reinforcement, and behavior redirection
- Adaptable, with strong communication and team collaboration sensibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult with teams to promote positive behaviors and supportive interventions
- Conduct assessments and use data to shape behavior support strategies
- Implement interventions, reinforce positive student behaviors, and address challenging behaviors
- Train staff on behavioral best practices
- Ensure compliance with school board policies, administrative procedures, and student handbooks
- Maintain a safe learning environment for all students
- Handle crisis situations with calm, flexible professionalism
