Bring your specialized skills and impactful mindset to an important role supporting students in a dynamic educational environment. As a full-time Behavior Intervention Specialist on a contract basis for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year, you'll play a pivotal part in driving positive behavioral change. Receive comprehensive training before students arrive and collaborate closely with a team of like-minded professionals, including an additional Behavior Intervention Specialist and a Special Education Administrator.

Desired qualifications:

  • Current BCBA certification or valid Special Education teaching licensure (tier 3 or 4 required for educators)
  • Demonstrated experience implementing positive behavioral interventions and supports within school settings
  • Expertise conducting functional behavioral assessments and generating effective, data-driven strategies
  • Ability to consult, communicate, and collaborate successfully with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong skills in de-escalation, crisis response, and applying adaptive, flexible thinking
  • Experience developing and supporting implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Aptitude for training others on behavioral practices and maintaining a safe, inclusive school climate

Key responsibilities:

  • Consult with staff to design and implement proactive, positive behavioral interventions tailored to students' needs
  • Work across 3-4 school sites, ensuring appropriate programming and support for each location
  • Conduct assessments, reinforce positive student behaviors, and utilize evidence-based strategies for redirection
  • Assist with the creation and execution of IEPs, ensuring compliance with district/state/federal requirements
  • Guide staff in applying behavior management techniques and promote a cooperative, safe learning environment
  • Employ data analysis to monitor interventions and facilitate continued student success
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and adhere to organizational policies and procedures
