Step into an exciting opportunity as a Behavior Specialist working onsite with a diverse K-12 caseload in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time, contract role runs from August 24, 2026 through June 10, 2027, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact supporting students, staff, and programs focused on autism support. You’ll serve as a crucial resource at the start of the year, directly influencing instructional quality and student outcomes.

What you'll do:

  • Train new staff in instructional practices tailored for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Provide all staff with targeted training on student-specific behavior intervention plans
  • Deliver refresher trainings for returning staff on updated procedures and best practices
  • Establish Verbal Repertoires (VRs) for students and model evidence-based instruction in classrooms
  • Help teams navigate Year 1 logistics—scheduling, assessments, and more
  • Review IEPs, BIPs, and documentation with building staff and facilitate ongoing skill transfer between classrooms
  • Conduct in-vivo coaching sessions, offering real-time feedback on evidence-based strategies
  • Work closely with outside consultants to align practices with district-wide goals, and ensure effective program fidelity
  • Monitor strategy implementation and provide corrective feedback as needed
  • Be a present, supportive resource for staff, students, and administrators, particularly during the critical start-of-year period

Qualifications:

  • Valid Pennsylvania educator certification in Special Education or a related discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices for students with ASD
  • Professional experience in autism support or special education within schools, preferably in urban environments
  • Ability to secure all required PA clearances
  • Proven reliability and access to dependable transportation
  • Must be comfortable within district settings, flexible to school locations, and able to work onsite between 7:15AM and 4PM
