Seeking an experienced Behavior Specialist to support K-12 students within a school setting located in Middletown, DE. This contract position is available for the current school year (CSY) and focuses on delivering specialized behavioral interventions to enhance student success and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct functional behavior assessments and develop individualized behavior intervention plans
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement evidence-based behavioral strategies
- Provide direct support and guidance to students exhibiting challenging behaviors
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Offer training and resources to school personnel on behavior management techniques
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant certification or licensure as a Behavior Specialist or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Experience working with K-12 populations in a school environment
- Strong understanding of behavioral assessment tools and intervention methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and work independently within a team framework
- Knowledge of federal and state education regulations related to special education and behavior supports
