Exciting opportunity for experienced individuals passionate about making a positive impact in school environments! We are looking for five full-time, onsite Behavior Intervention Specialists (BIS) to begin the 2025/2026 school year. These specialists will work closely with another BIS and a Special Education Administrator, supporting 3-4 school sites. While your assigned locations will be considered for convenience, flexibility is needed regarding final placement.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Qualified applicants may be BCBA certified or licensed Special Education Teachers (Tier 3 or 4 license required for teachers).
- RBTs are not eligible for this position.
- Experience conducting functional behavior assessments and implementing behavioral interventions in educational settings.
- Strong skills in collaboration, communication, and team consultation.
- Familiarity with developing and supporting individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Proficiency in managing crisis situations and the use of de-escalation techniques.
- Ability to train school staff on behavior intervention strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Consult, communicate, and collaborate with school teams to create and sustain effective behavior intervention plans.
- Conduct functional behavior assessments for students and recommend evidence-based strategies.
- Implement positive behavior interventions and supports, and provide ongoing reinforcement and coaching.
- Support and help develop IEPs, ensuring compliance with all district, state, and federal guidelines.
- Provide staff training on behavioral recommendations and the use of targeted interventions.
- Collect and analyze student data to guide intervention planning.
- Help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, including the use of restrictive procedures when necessary.
- Additional duties as directed by the Director of Special Education.
This is a contract position starting September 8, 2026, running through June 10, 2027, with typical hours of 8:30 am to 4:10 pm. You will enjoy a dynamic, supportive atmosphere and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference across multiple school sites.
