Step into a pivotal role supporting students’ success as a Behavior Intervention Specialist in a dynamic school environment. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity is for the 2025-2026 academic year, with student-facing duties beginning in September following a preparatory week in August. You’ll collaborate closely with another specialist and a Special Education Administrator, offering expertise to multiple school sites within the district and fostering positive behavioral change.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid BCBA credential or, for Special Education Teachers, a Tier 3 or 4 teaching license (required).
- Direct experience in behavior analysis, special education, or behavioral intervention within school settings.
- Deep knowledge of Functional Behavior Assessments, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and crisis management.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Training experience or willingness to deliver staff development related to behavioral interventions.
- Flexibility to travel between 3-4 assigned sites.
Your Responsibilities:
- Consult and collaborate with educators and staff to implement positive behavior interventions tailored to student needs.
- Conduct thorough Functional Behavior Assessments and utilize data-driven strategies to craft and refine intervention plans.
- Reinforce positive behaviors, deploy de-escalation techniques, and handle behavioral crises calmly and appropriately.
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Plans in compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Maintain a safe learning environment and uphold district policies.
- Contribute to ongoing professional development and staff training initiatives.
