School Behavior Specialist in West Chester, PA

Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students as a Behavior Specialist on a full-time, onsite contract. In this dynamic role, you’ll deliver coaching, training, and support to both new and returning staff, empowering them to use evidence-based practices that shape positive learning environments for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The position offers 35 hours per week, running from August 24, 2026, through June 10, 2027. You’ll serve as a resource and mentor during the vital start-of-year transition, collaborating across teams to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery.

Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania educator certification in Special Education or a closely related field
• Strong background in evidence-based instruction for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Experience working in autism support or special education, ideally within schools
• Knowledge of IEPs, BIPs, and related documentation processes
• Comfortable navigating urban district settings and integrating district practices
• Able to complete all relevant Pennsylvania clearances
• Dependable transportation for onsite presence
• Willingness and ability to work between 7:15AM and 4:00PM without schedule accommodations
• Prior school-based experience required

Core Responsibilities:

• Train staff on autism support strategies and individual behavior plans
• Provide classroom modeling, coaching, and skill transfer for evidence-based practices
• Facilitate orientation and refresher trainings, supporting K-12 teams and logistics
• Engage in ongoing collaboration with consulting partners to align program implementation
• Review, monitor, and provide feedback on classroom practice and individualized student programs
• Serve as a visible, accessible resource during the crucial early weeks
• Participate in onsite support and consultations, designating representation when necessary
