School Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Edison, NJ

A rewarding opportunity awaits a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) seeking to make a real difference in a school setting. This contract, full-time position (30-31 hours per week) runs onsite from ASAP through June 19, 2026, offering the chance to build meaningful connections and sharpen your abilities in a supportive environment located near Edison, NJ.

As part of this role, you'll provide 1:1 support to an 18-year-old male student, delivering essential care and fostering independence. Your responsibilities will go beyond traditional nursing support, enabling you to be an integral part of their educational journey.

Key qualifications:

• Active CNA certification in good standing
• Prior experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with physical and developmental needs is highly preferred
• Comfortable performing tasks such as lifting, transferring, pushing wheelchairs, and providing personal hygiene support (including diaper changes)
• Basic understanding of safe feeding techniques
• Willingness to collaborate with educational staff and engage in light academic instruction
• Demonstrated patience, empathy, and reliability

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing direct care and mobility assistance throughout the school day
• Supporting classroom participation, occasionally assisting the student with academic assignments
• Assisting with feeding, toileting, and personal needs
• Ensuring the safety, dignity, and comfort of the student at all times
• Communicating effectively with the educational team and the student’s support network
