School Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Paterson, NJ

As a valued support professional, you’ll work onsite directly with an 18-year-old student, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

This full-time position (30-31 hours per week) starts as soon as possible and runs through June 19, 2026. You will play a key role each day, providing vital care as well as academic assistance, and ensuring the student’s well-being and positive school experience.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Active CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) certification
• Previous experience supporting individuals with physical or developmental disabilities preferred
• Ability to perform safe lifting, transferring, and wheelchair assistance
• Comfort with diaper changes and feeding duties
• Strong, compassionate communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to assist with general academic instruction as needed

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support for an 18-year-old male student with daily personal care needs
• Assist with lifting, wheelchair transfers, and mobility throughout the school day
• Support feeding and personal hygiene, including diaper changing
• Engage with and assist the student in academic activities within the classroom setting
• Cultivate a respectful, encouraging, and inclusive environment
• Collaborate closely with educators and school staff to deliver consistent care
