An exciting opportunity awaits in a contract role supporting students’ growth and development through occupational therapy services in a school-based setting near Alto, NM. This position is designed for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who thrives in educational environments, collaborating closely with OTs and teachers to positively impact students’ learning and independence.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Current state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • NBCOT certification
  • Minimum of one year of recent professional experience, ideally in a school or pediatric environment
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Commitment to continued education and professional development in accordance with state and district guidelines

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed OT
  • Facilitate therapeutic activities to help students achieve educational and developmental objectives
  • Monitor, track, and document student progress, adjusting interventions in partnership with the OT as needed
  • Collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and parents to address students’ needs
  • Maintain compliance with documentation, regulatory, and district-specific requirements
  • Engage in ongoing learning and development to remain current with occupational therapy practices
