Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Minimum of one year of recent experience – school or pediatric setting preferred
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and meeting state/district continuing education requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of effective occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed OT
- Implement activities and interventions tailored to students’ educational and developmental needs
- Monitor progress, document outcomes, and assist the OT in updating treatment plans
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to optimize student success
- Keep thorough records and meet all state and district standards for compliance
- Engage in professional growth and remain updated on best practices
