Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly valued
  • Ability to assist with implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) alongside occupational therapists
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and family/team collaboration
  • Familiarity with K-12 developmental stages and related challenges
  • Adaptable, reliable, and eager to foster student growth and engagement

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct treatment, guided by OT plans, to help students achieve IEP goals
  • Support skill development in areas such as fine motor coordination, sensory processing, and self-care tasks
  • Document progress, keeping clear and timely records per school and compliance standards
  • Collaborate closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and other school staff
  • Offer feedback and strategies to families and educators for generalizing skills beyond the classroom
