Step into a dynamic and supportive school-based environment as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), making a difference for learners across K-12 grades. This is a full-time, contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year, providing valuable support to students in a Special Education setting. The role is based onsite with a manageable caseload, and you'll enjoy collaborating with experienced professionals dedicated to student growth and success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois COTA license (please have documentation ready for submission)
  • Experience working within school-based or pediatric settings is highly valued
  • Understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies
  • Skilled in collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to support student outcomes
  • Comfortable delivering services onsite, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed OT as outlined in each student’s educational plan
  • Assist in developing and implementing interventions to improve functional abilities and participation in classroom activities
  • Monitor and document student progress, maintaining compliance with all required reporting
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for students with diverse needs
  • Collaborate regularly with educators, families, and related service providers to optimize student experiences

As part of this role, you’ll benefit from a consistent weekly schedule (35 hours) and the opportunity to attend new hire orientation prior to the school year (August 12th-14th). The low caseload ensures meaningful interaction with each student and professional support throughout the contract.
