Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active COTA licensure in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
  • Ability to implement IEP goals and treatment activities under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Organized and adaptable with excellent time management abilities
  • Proficiency in documentation and maintaining accurate records

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other educational staff to support students’ educational and developmental goals
  • Assist in the preparation and adaptation of classroom materials and environments to support student participation
  • Monitor, document, and report on student progress, communicating updates with relevant team members
  • Support classroom inclusion initiatives and actively participate in IEP meetings as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with school policies and standards of ethical practice
