Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current COTA certification and Maine state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience in a school environment preferred, but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Organizational skills for managing therapy materials, scheduling, and documentation
- Eagerness to collaborate and contribute to a positive school community
Your Role:
- Assist in planning and implementing therapeutic activities as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Support students individually or in groups to help improve fine motor, sensory, and behavioral skills
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and legal requirements
- Adapt activities and learning environments to accommodate student needs
- Engage in IEP meetings and provide input on students’ progress and therapeutic needs
- Educate students, staff, and families on strategies for occupational success throughout the school day
