This contract opportunity offers diverse experience across multiple school sites, including elementary, middle, and high school settings, serving a range of students from pre-K to age 22 in transition programs. The role is strictly on-site, providing meaningful, hands-on contributions to students’ educational journeys.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Current educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting is highly valued
- Comfortable working as an itinerant professional, able to travel between different school sites within the district
- Commitment to timely completion of fingerprinting and credentialing requirements
- Strong communication skills and an enthusiastic, patient approach to working with children and young adults
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with supervising occupational therapists, teachers, and school staff to develop and implement therapy plans tailored to student needs
- Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services for students on your caseload, adapting to the diversity of age groups and developmental stages
- Document progress, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain compliance with all district and state guidelines
- Travel between assigned schools daily, adapting seamlessly to different educational environments
