Key Qualifications:
- Valid Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) credentials through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Previous school-based experience is highly preferred
- Comfortable traveling between elementary, middle, and high school campuses as assigned
- Strong communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage diverse student caseloads and adapt strategies accordingly
- Willingness to complete required fingerprinting and credentialing steps promptly
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Support students in developing fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills needed for participation in the school environment
- Document student progress, prepare reports, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Collaborate with classroom staff to integrate therapeutic strategies throughout the school day
- Travel between assigned buildings within the school district, adapting to varying schedules
This contract runs through June 9, 2027, offering consistent hours between 35-37.5 per week, with daily schedules aligning to each school’s unique start and end times.
