School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Aurora, Illinois

This full-time position is ideal for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) who thrive on variety, as you will be providing services across multiple campuses within a vibrant school district near Aurora, with assignments ranging from elementary through high school. The schedule offers 35-37.5 hours per week, with your work spanning typical school day hours. Collaborate closely with educators and district clinicians while delivering hands-on therapy to students ages Pre-K to 22, fostering skill development that creates lasting impact.

Required Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Must hold active Illinois COTA licensure
• Previous school-based COTA experience is highly preferred
• Ability to adapt to different school environments and work with age-diverse caseloads
• Strong interpersonal skills to partner with students, staff, and families
• Must complete required fingerprinting and credentialing promptly

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services as part of students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Travel between assigned elementary, middle, and high school sites for on-site services (not open to virtual/VOCO roles)
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment strategies
• Maintain accurate treatment documentation and monitor student progress
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting for students’ functional independence
