Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students from PreK through 12th grade with your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This role involves partnering with both elementary and high school students near Belen, NM, providing essential therapy services within educational settings. The assignment spans from early August 2026 through late May 2027, offering the satisfaction of making a meaningful impact throughout the entire school year.
As a valued COTA, you’ll work a consistent weekly schedule of 40 hours, with your day beginning at 7:30 am and concluding at 4:30 pm. Your skills will help nurture independence and academic success for students across a wide age range, from young learners to those preparing to graduate.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Experience in school-based settings preferred; healthcare exposure a plus
- Confidence in supporting both elementary and high school students
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for serving diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students in PreK-6th grade and 10th–12th grade
- Implement treatment plans designed by Occupational Therapists to promote student participation and learning
- Maintain detailed progress documentation and participate in team meetings
- Collaborate effectively with educators and related service professionals
- Contribute to a positive, supportive environment in both high school and elementary school buildings
