School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) | Bellingham, Washington

This contract position offers the chance to work one-on-one with students, supporting their goals alongside an experienced Occupational Therapist. With a Monday through Friday schedule (7:00 am–3:30 pm) and one dedicated school site, you’ll have the stability and focus to genuinely impact student growth.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active COTA certification required
• Previous experience working within a school setting is a must
• Strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges of student populations
• Ability to maintain clear documentation and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams
• Excellent communication skills and the flexibility to adapt support for each student
• Self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect therapy services under the supervision of an OT
• Assist the OT with implementing IEP goals and tracking student progress
• Support students within classroom settings and during pull-out sessions
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate therapeutic activities into the school day
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies
• Communicate regularly with staff to ensure consistent support

This full-time assignment is scheduled for 35 hours per week, starting as soon as possible and continuing until the district secures a direct hire.
