A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to serve both high school and elementary age students near Bosque Farms, NM. This full-time role is ideal for a professional passionate about supporting student success and delivering top-tier school-based care. From early August through late May, you'll work closely with district staff, delivering vital services to learners ranging from PreK to 12th grade across two school buildings. Each day brings a new chance to make an impact, all while maintaining a structured weekly schedule.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current certification as a COTA, with valid state licensure or eligibility.
  • Experience in a healthcare or school setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with IEP implementation and documentation for school-related therapy.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, support staff, students, and families.
  • Adaptability to serve diverse populations from PreK-6th grade and 10th-12th grade.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions and support student participation in school activities.
  • Carry out treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in accordance with district and state guidelines.
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Travel between a high school and an elementary school as assigned.
  • Provide input on therapeutic strategies and modifications in classroom settings.

This contract position runs from August 3, 2026, to May 28, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
