Step into an engaging role supporting students across all grade levels as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT) in a dynamic school-based setting. This opportunity offers a full-time contract beginning August 27, 2026, with an initial commitment of approximately 12 weeks to cover an FMLA maternity leave. While the district prefers a COTA, qualified Occupational Therapists are encouraged to apply. The position will provide therapy services to students from Pre-K through 12th grade in a district-wide capacity.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Connecticut COTA license/certification (CT DPH License and NBCOT Exam passed) OR active Connecticut OT license
  • Previous school experience strongly preferred
  • Reliable transportation is essential for travel across multiple campuses
  • Comfortable working with diverse student populations and age groups
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams and supervisors
  • Flexibility and commitment to covering a leave assignment, with understanding that an extension is possible but not guaranteed

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services to students in accordance with each treatment plan
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure students’ needs are met
  • Document and track progress in accordance with district and state requirements
  • Work under the supervision and guidance of an Occupational Therapist if serving as a COTA
  • Serve a caseload spanning from Pre-K to 12th grade students across the district

This assignment provides a unique chance to grow your school-based clinical skills, serve diverse learners, and develop relationships within an experienced interdisciplinary team. The initial contract is for the duration of the maternity leave, but there's strong potential for future extension.
