Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • At least one year of recent experience, ideally in a school or pediatric setting
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education as required by state and district guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions and activities under the direction of a licensed OT
  • Implement individualized plans to help students meet educational and developmental objectives
  • Monitor, document, and communicate student progress, adjusting interventions in collaboration with the OT
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support students’ diverse needs
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance therapeutic skills
