Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- At least one year of recent experience, ideally in a school or pediatric setting
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education as required by state and district guidelines
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions and activities under the direction of a licensed OT
- Implement individualized plans to help students meet educational and developmental objectives
- Monitor, document, and communicate student progress, adjusting interventions in collaboration with the OT
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support students’ diverse needs
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance therapeutic skills
