Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Active state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Current certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Minimum of one year of recent occupational therapy assistant experience, preferably in school or pediatric settings
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and state/district-mandated continuing education credits
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions and activities under the guidance of a licensed OT
- Support students’ educational and developmental objectives through individualized, evidence-based practice
- Track and document progress, sharing updates and insights with the OT for collaborative treatment planning
- Engage with educators, administrators, and families to help meet students’ unique needs
- Maintain thorough records compliant with state and district standards
- Participate in ongoing training and professional growth opportunities to keep skills sharp
