Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Minimum of one year of recent COTA experience, ideally in a school or pediatric context
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
  • Commitment to meeting continuing education and professional development requirements as set by state and district guidelines

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy support and interventions to students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Facilitate therapeutic activities designed to help students achieve their educational and functional goals
  • Observe and document student progress, collaborating with the OT to modify or refine treatment plans
  • Partner with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure coordinated care and communication
  • Maintain secure and compliant records in accordance with regulations
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current in best practices
