Key Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current certification as a COTA
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility to obtain it prior to starting
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric therapy setting strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, therapists, and administrators
  • Organized, flexible, and proactive approach to student care

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students according to their IEPs
  • Support the lead Occupational Therapist in implementing therapy interventions within classroom and individual settings
  • Document treatment progress and maintain thorough, accurate records in compliance with school and legal requirements
  • Collaborate with educators and families to adapt activities and environments for maximum student participation
  • Assist in the assessment of student needs and contribute to evaluation and goal-setting processes
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other relevant team discussions
