Step into an engaging role as a contract Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting K-12 students in a thriving academic setting. Located near Chatham, VA and just across the North Carolina border in Danville, this position places you in a scenic community about 1.5 hours south of Roanoke. You’ll make a real difference from now through the end of the school year by partnering with dedicated educators and working closely with two virtual Occupational Therapists.

As a full-time COTA, you’ll deliver 37.5 hours per week of hands-on support to students across a K-12 caseload. Your expertise will be valued as you assist in executing customized therapy plans, helping students achieve their academic and developmental goals.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid COTA certification and licensure in the state of Virginia (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Experience within a school-based setting, particularly K-12, is highly desired
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills for working with virtual OTs, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and supporting IEP goals
  • Adaptability and enthusiasm for engaging a diverse student population

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct occupational therapy support services to students as outlined in IEPs
  • Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans and activities
  • Collaborate with educational staff to adapt classroom environments for student success
  • Maintain clear and detailed documentation of student progress and sessions
  • Partner with two virtual OTs to deliver integrated care, both onsite and virtually
