Step into a dynamic contract role supporting K-12 students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a beautiful campus near Chatham, VA—right on the North Carolina border and only a quick drive, about 1.5 hours south, from Roanoke. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact throughout the remainder of the school year, working full-time at 37.5 hours per week.
You'll be part of a supportive educational environment, focusing on a diverse caseload of students. Collaboration is key; you'll partner with two knowledgeable virtual Occupational Therapists to deliver comprehensive therapy services that help students achieve their full potential.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid COTA license in Virginia
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong understanding of K-12 educational environments
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Comfort working independently as well as collaboratively with remote OTs
- Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans in alignment with IEP goals as directed by supervising OTs
- Deliver direct therapy services to students across K-12 grade levels
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records
- Facilitate activities that enhance student participation in daily life and learning
- Consult and collaborate with faculty, virtual OTs, and families to support student success
