Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification as a COTA
- Valid state license (or eligibility to obtain upon hiring)
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other therapists, educators, and families
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OT
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized student treatment plans
- Monitor and document student progress, reporting to the supervising OT
- Adapt therapy activities and materials for optimal student participation and success
- Engage with teachers and staff to support integration of therapeutic strategies in the classroom
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute insight on student progress and goals as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely records in compliance with school and district policies
