As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a full-time, school-year contract position, you’ll play a vital role in aiding students to achieve independence and success within the academic setting.

Desired Background & Skills:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current COTA certification and state licensure (or eligibility)
  • Previous experience working in a school-based setting is highly valued
  • Solid understanding of IEP processes, documentation standards, and implementing therapy goals
  • Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, both with students and staff
  • Adaptability in meeting students’ individualized needs in a school environment

Key Duties:

  • Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OT, focusing on educational goals
  • Complete direct interventions with students individually or in groups, supporting development of fine motor, sensory, and functional skills
  • Document progress and maintain all required records in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to shape effective therapy plans
  • Assist in integrating therapy strategies into classroom routines and daily activities
  • Contribute insights for program development and adaptive solutions for students’ diverse needs
