Qualifications/Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of IEP documentation and goals
  • Ability to collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and school staff
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment
  • Commitment to student-centered service delivery

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist to deliver individualized and group therapy interventions
  • Support student participation in classroom and daily school routines
  • Implement activities designed to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities
  • Monitor, track, and report on student progress toward IEP goals
  • Collaborate thoughtfully with teachers and support staff to integrate therapy strategies into classroom activities
  • Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development as needed
