Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Active Tennessee COTA license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date)
  • Previous experience within school settings preferred, but open to strong clinical backgrounds
  • Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy techniques
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt plans to individual student goals and learning styles

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement occupational therapy plans as directed by licensed Occupational Therapists
  • Support students’ participation in daily classroom activities, fine motor skills, and self-care
  • Maintain accurate documentation of interventions, progress, and outcomes
  • Work closely with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary partners to ensure effective carryover of strategies
  • Attend IEP meetings and contribute to student care planning as required
  • Remain up-to-date with state and federal school therapy regulations
