Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Experience working with school-aged children or in educational settings preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation standards
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families
  • Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet individual student needs
  • Current state licensure or eligibility to obtain (assistance provided if needed)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy services to students according to established IEP goals
  • Assist supervising occupational therapist with evaluations and treatment planning
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and outcomes
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student support plans
  • Implement activities that promote fine motor, sensory processing, and adaptive skills development in the classroom setting
  • Communicate regularly with educators and caregivers to facilitate carryover of therapeutic techniques
