School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Colonial Beach, Virginia

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active and valid COTA license in the state of Virginia
• Proven experience working as a COTA, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
• Skilled in delivering occupational therapy interventions in accordance with student IEPs
• Proficient at maintaining documentation and reports as required by school procedures

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to a select group of students, tailoring interventions to meet unique developmental and academic needs
• Work closely with teachers and other specialists to support student success
• Document progress, update goals, and engage in IEP meetings as indicated
• Empower students to develop functional skills in areas such as fine motor coordination, self-care, and sensory processing
• Travel between classrooms as needed to deliver seamless support
