Make a meaningful impact by supporting students’ growth and independence in an engaging school environment as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). In this contract role, you’ll collaborate with a dynamic team of educators and therapists, providing vital occupational therapy services to help students succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current COTA certification and state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
- Prior experience in a school setting is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Compassion for working with children of diverse backgrounds and needs
- Ability to adapt creative interventions for a wide range of abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work alongside an Occupational Therapist to deliver direct and consultative OT services to students
- Support the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assist in assessments, data collection, and progress monitoring
- Promote students’ fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and functional participation
- Maintain accurate documentation and detailed records in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Communicate regularly with teachers, families, and school teams regarding student progress
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment
