Step into an exciting opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant supporting K-8 students onsite throughout the full school year. This contract position serves a close-knit caseload of 55 students, offering meaningful engagement and the chance to make a daily impact across multiple age groups. You’ll collaborate with educational staff to help students achieve their highest level of independence and participation within the school environment.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Experience providing services in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with teachers, students, and families
- Ability to adapt and develop creative interventions for diverse student needs
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering student growth in both individual and group settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy services under the supervision of an occupational therapist, focusing on written student goals
- Support students with daily living skills, fine and gross motor coordination, sensory integration, and classroom participation
- Maintain clear and detailed documentation of all interventions and student progress in compliance with school and program requirements
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement strategies that enhance learning and engagement within general and special education settings
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages growth for all students from kindergarten through eighth grade
