Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Corning, CA

Step into an exciting opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant supporting K-8 students onsite throughout the full school year. This contract position serves a close-knit caseload of 55 students, offering meaningful engagement and the chance to make a daily impact across multiple age groups. You’ll collaborate with educational staff to help students achieve their highest level of independence and participation within the school environment.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Experience providing services in a school-based setting preferred
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with teachers, students, and families
• Ability to adapt and develop creative interventions for diverse student needs
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering student growth in both individual and group settings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct occupational therapy services under the supervision of an occupational therapist, focusing on written student goals
• Support students with daily living skills, fine and gross motor coordination, sensory integration, and classroom participation
• Maintain clear and detailed documentation of all interventions and student progress in compliance with school and program requirements
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement strategies that enhance learning and engagement within general and special education settings
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages growth for all students from kindergarten through eighth grade
