This opportunity allows you to collaborate with educators and help make a real impact as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic school setting. You’ll work onsite, serving a diverse caseload of 55 students and playing a vital role in their developmental journey.
Desired Experience or Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience or interest in working with school-aged children (K-8)
- Understanding of school-based therapy practices and related educational interventions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with occupational therapists, educators, and families
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and positive therapeutic environment
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Implement treatment plans developed by supervising occupational therapists to address sensory, fine motor, and daily living skill deficits
- Track student progress, documenting session notes, and communicating outcomes to the educational team
- Provide in-class and pull-out interventions tailored to each student’s needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable input toward goal-setting and modification
- Offer recommendations to teachers and staff to support student success in the classroom environment
- Maintain compliance with all documentation and reporting requirements
