Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Danville, VA

This full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position offers the chance to collaborate with two experienced virtual Occupational Therapists while making a significant impact on a diverse K-12 caseload. The assignment starts ASAP and runs through the end of the school year.

Qualifications:

• Valid COTA licensure and certification
• Previous experience within a school, pediatric, or K-12 setting preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with OTs, educators, and families
• Proficient in documentation and progress tracking
• Comfortable using technology for virtual communication and reporting
• Adaptable and able to support a variety of student needs across multiple grade levels

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement therapeutic activities as outlined in students’ IEPs under the supervision of two remote Occupational Therapists
• Support gross and fine motor skill development, sensory integration, and functional daily living skills
• Facilitate sessions individually and in small groups across K-12 classrooms
• Collaborate regularly with teachers and families to monitor progress and share strategies
• Maintain accurate records, assist with assessment data, and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
• Foster an inclusive, encouraging learning environment for all students
