A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a school-based setting near Demotte, IN. This position plays a key role in helping students achieve their educational and developmental goals through tailored occupational therapy services.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • At least one year of recent experience in occupational therapy, preferably with pediatric or school-based populations
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
  • Willingness to pursue continuing education credits and ongoing professional development as required by the state and district

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of occupational therapy plans under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions to foster students’ functional independence and participation in school environments
  • Track and document student progress, collaborating with the supervising OT to modify therapy as necessary
  • Partner with educators, administrators, and families to address and support individual student needs
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with state and district regulations
  • Engage in professional development and training opportunities to maintain current knowledge and best practices
