Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting K-12 students in the vibrant area near Dry Fork, VA, just across the North Carolina border and approximately 1.5 hours south of Roanoke. This full-time position (37.5 hours per week), running from ASAP through the end of the school year, offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and adolescents across diverse age groups.

Collaborate with a team where you’ll work onsite while coordinating closely with two experienced virtual Occupational Therapists. Your expertise will contribute directly to students’ growth and independence through hands-on support in an educational setting.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Previous experience in a school-based role preferred
  • Familiarity with K-12 caseloads and a variety of support needs
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both in-person and virtual colleagues
  • Valid licensure in Virginia or eligibility for state licensing

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted occupational therapy interventions and supports, following student IEPs and care plans
  • Collaborate with virtual OTs on treatment plans, progress monitoring, and documentation
  • Assist students in developing essential skills for school participation, focusing on fine motor, sensory, and adaptive functioning
  • Participate in team meetings, IEP development, and parent communications as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school protocols
