Step into an exciting opportunity supporting students across K-12th grade with your skills as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic school-based contract role. With a consistent Monday through Friday schedule totaling 30 hours per week, you’ll provide meaningful services throughout the full academic year, working closely with a virtual Occupational Therapist supervisor. This position empowers you to collaborate with educators, families, and your supervising OT to foster student success and independence in the classroom environment.
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
- Prior experience in a school setting or working with children and adolescents preferred
- Comfortable working with K-12th grade students with a variety of abilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Ability to take initiative and follow direction from a remote supervisor
- Tech-savvy, adaptable, and open to using virtual communication tools
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a virtual OT
- Assist in the implementation of IEP goals and objectives, documenting student progress accordingly
- Contribute to assessments, observations, and reports as needed to support the team
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, school staff, and families to support student goals
- Utilize creativity and problem-solving skills to adapt strategies to individual student needs
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards for all student-related information
