Qualifications and Experience:

  • A current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license (or eligibility) in Massachusetts
  • Previous experience working in a school or pediatric environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of individualized education program (IEP) implementation
  • Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and abilities
  • Excellent communication skills for teaming with educators, therapists, and families
  • Organizational strengths to manage documentation and deadlines

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in delivering direct therapy services as outlined in students’ IEPs
  • Support students in developing fine and gross motor skills relevant to academic and daily living tasks
  • Implement treatment plans designed by the Occupational Therapist, providing progress updates
  • Participate in team meetings, offering valuable input for student progress and goals
  • Document sessions and student outcomes according to school protocols
  • Assist with creating and modifying classroom materials to improve student accessibility and engagement
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom climate that empowers all students
